Dynamic Form Study

Creating dynamics : SCALE and LAYERING

Amorphous (Chipboard, Metal Wire - 9 x 12 x 8)

Exploration on how scale interacts with repetition and dynamic movement. The scaling pattern was inspired by a triplet DNA codon. Each set of scaling action is represented through three individual pieces. Aspects of dynamic repetition is successfully shown as the final piece shows a different form from different sides.

Light Membrane

Experimenting on membrane structure to create a dynamic space through an assembly of modular construction. A modular ring structure acts as supporting structures as the geometry of a circular linkage is unlimited. Tracing paper is used as the membrane, generating a translucent atmosphere of lightness.

Irregular Arch

Interplay of repetition and dynamic movement. Constructed of arches that are locked in bindings that provides structurality. Each arch is offset at four distinct points to imply dynamic movement on the outer layer.

Spliced

The push and pulls of a rectangular volume, aspects of large excavation, dense slicing, and subtle bending can generate a form that still retains same aspects. A sense of lightness is generated through the dimensionality of the material.
