Cube Study : LAYERING
This is a space exploration utilizing the concept of layering within a six by six inch cube. The cube is constructed from additions of repetitive elements throughout an excavated core. Concepts of stepping, scaling, offset, are then outlined by the basswood sticks, creating closure and voids throughout the cube; creating a moment throughout all sides.
Gorge Building
An extension of cube study is translated into a building exploring the continuation of layering, stepping, and scaling. The building is designed for a space of contemplation, reflection, and revelation; featured through three unique spaces of site of excavation, core utility space, and an atrium of contemplation.
